The tyres are adept at securing edges and corners, even though they are circular. It's not the best cat litter eater, however, with our tests showing it can only remove about 90% of the fur from hard floors.

And its sweeping and suction power are top of the line cleaning up surface debris from medium-pile carpeting and embedded dust on floors that are unfinished. It's not the fastest robot on the market. Like many others it's not a very good climber and has trouble with things like thresholds made of steel transition strips.

This budget robot is just like a typical robot, but it's an upgrade in terms of performance and features. Its intelligent mapping system creates 3D and 2-D maps of your home and uses to navigate and avoid obstacles. In our tests, it effortlessly climbed over thick shag rug and didn't get stuck on them (like the RoboVac 11s or Roomba 690). Its navigation skills were impressive as well and its overall score on carpet and bare floors was better than the competition. It took in 98.5 percent of the surface pet hair and litter from our laboratory test samples.
The controls are less basic than the competitors. There is a cleaning button on the top and you can choose to start it using the app or by voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant.
